Be the best version of yourself daily. Although darkness may appear in any shapes and forms, they come and go without notice since no one goes about daily activities looking for darkness. However, the appearance of darkness is not new, and for as long as night and day exist, darkness would do everything to manifest itself. Of course, darkness manifests itself in various forms and could appear in your spiritual, physical, mental, emotional, relational, financial, or vocational life. Regardless of where and when darkness attempts to appear, what you do matters. Your action or inaction would have an effect in any situation. And such effect is determined by you. What type of difference do you want to make?
God did not create you for a life of average! You are wonderfully made Psalm 139:14. You are destined for greatness because you are the work of God’s hand. The earlier you understand your purpose the better for you to live a life of greatness. You can only make a meaningful difference when you operate under the influence of the Holy Spirit. You must be the shining light amidst darkness regardless of the challenges life presents to you. Your question may be how possible that could be, especially when ‘life sometimes seems not to be unfair.’ Well, “…the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits,” says Daniel 11:32. You may influence the world, be it in your spiritual, physical, mental, emotional, relational, financial, or vocational life if you see Jesus in any of those areas of life.
Imagine for a moment how this world would be if we all do our part? Wickedness and darkness would have no place in our societies. When you fail to claim what is yours, another person would claim it. Yes, you are to rely on God daily. God gives you authority that you must exercise daily, and when you fail to do so, you risk living under the affairs of darkness and wickedness. Hence the need to command your morning Job 38:12-13. Yes, you have the authority as given by God to command your days.
Evil traverses the universe, and wickedness flourishes when the righteous keep cool and muted forget that holy anger is necessary against unrighteousness. After all, the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force Matthew 11:12. You must choose to be the shining light. There is no other time in history than now to take your place, and you can only take your place when you understand the power of God inside of you. He that is in you is mighty. You are of God, and through Him, you can pull down the strongholds 1 John 4:4; II Corinthians 10:3-5.
Learn to be intentional and make the best of every moment to ensure you do everything with the help of the Holy Spirit to deter every appearance of evil and wickedness. Exercise the Spirit in you – discernment is your inheritance, do not allow it to be dormant. Keep in mind that everything you see in the physical first takes place in the mind; needless to say, there is a spirit behind all things, and you must recognize that you have the advantage because you belong to God. Be the blazing and uncompromising light. Never allow darkness to triumph.
In the world of sin and sorrow, in the time where ‘tomorrow’ is not sure for anyone. In a state of uncertainty and disruptions. In a time when natural disasters and pestilence are becoming normal. In a time where hope is fading away, in a state where calamity and corruption is the order of the day and the righteous are treated unjustly, in a universe where lives are no more valuable as it should be, scary things happen daily. Yet, people may think it is normal. If there is any time to shine your light, it is now. Use the name of Jesus, who at the mention of His name all knees bow Philippians 2:10-11. Let people see Jesus in you in all you do. Above all, represent Jesus well and let your light shine in the darkness and let no darkness overcome it John 1:5. You would only be able to do this with blazing and uncompromising light.
