Congratulations! You are now in the final stretch of the year 2021. I hope you are in the mood of gratitude, and if you think you have nothing to be grateful for, remember, some people started the year as you, but they are no more. While tomorrow is not guaranteed, take advantage of today and show appreciation. For various challenges you went through, give thanks. For those breakthroughs that took place, give thanks. For the breath in your nostril, give thanks. For those barriers you break, give thanks, and for the fact that you are still able to give thanks to God, give thanks.

Sometimes, we see life as routine because things happen without exerting effort. However, the same thing you and I do without extra effort is difficult for other people to do. There are people on life-support, while others are removed from the same! Not rejoicing over them, but just to let you know that as much as you may think your situation is worst, there are still others whose situations are worse than yours. Understanding this would affect how you show gratitude to God even when you are not where you think you would like to be.

Therefore, it is time not to think about what you should have become but to thank God for what you are and where He is taking you to. Never allow Satan to take any credit for your life. Yes, you have the credentials to be making six figures by now! I understand you would love to have your own house by now! Indeed, it would have been so good to have married by now! You think you started early to retire on time, but you are still working! You had planned to become a professor by now! You did everything to ride the car of your dream! All of these are yet to come through. Regardless of your situation, this season is unique, and if you have breath, there is hope for you.

Do not allow this moment to waste away. Count your blessings, and name them one by one. In doing so, you would have a reason to end this year with praise. Praise attitude is not just for the things God has done, but for those things you are still expecting and believing that He will do. So, end this year with praise; do not be ungrateful.

Let’s take a journey to the gospel according to Luke 17:11-19, This was where ten lepers got cleansed, but only one returned to give thanks. Where are the nine? Jesus asked. Is this not true today? With the high number of people who called to God for protection and safety amid the pandemic, is it not only ten percent who are now giving thanks to God? Where are the 90 percent? Not rejoicing over those who died from COVID-19, other sicknesses, and diseases, but did you think you made it this far because you are careful enough or because you know how to manage it better than those who died? NO, it is not by power nor by might but by the grace of God. Only the grateful people would enjoy the total package of the blessings of the Lord. End this year with praise; do not be ungrateful.

As you celebrate this season, remember that Jesus Christ is the reason for the season. Therefore, let go of the past. Be faithful; be committed; be obedient; be fervent; do not compromise; serve like never and focus on the future because your tomorrow is bright. For in this, I am confident, “He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ” Philippians 1:6. End this year with praise; don’t be ungrateful.
