Sometimes the term friend is not enough. The word doesn’t cover what some people are to us. Some people surpass the meaning of friend and move into the family territory. Some of us have come to know friends who can be considered family. We’ve come to know that there are people in our lives who God intended for us to have as brothers or sisters. It is a blessing to know that God has given us people who are so special to us that they have become like family in our eyes. We may not share the same parents, but they hold a bond with us that is just as strong as a sibling’s. Thank God for these people and continue treating them like family.

One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24 NIV).

Lord, thank you for putting these special people in my life.
