Did you know the name, but you do not know what it means? Did you know what it means, but you are not taking advantage of it? You did not know the benefits it carries. What exactly is in the name? No, at this moment, I am not talking about your actual name but a name you are about to find out from reading this. Name is an identifier as it comprises the unique designation of a person, thing, or place. Knowing the name of a person could help you tell who they are. Knowing the name of a place might help you figure out how to get there and what it is all about.
Name is critical, that is why after God created the beasts and birds, He brought them to Adam to name them and whatever name Adam called those creatures, that was their name Genesis 2:19. When you know the name of a thing or person, identification becomes possible, and you are in a better position to understand the purpose. However, not knowing the name makes understanding difficult, and the purpose becomes blurry.
“Therefore, God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name, which is above every name, that at the name of JESUS every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-11). The name of God supersedes other names! The name of God is not ordinary and should not be seen or taken as ordinary.
Regardless of the seasons of life and where you are, God’s name is available to you: When you need deliverance, God is your DELIVERER. When life throws you into the unpalatable experience, and things become gloomy, you need to be delivered. Therefore, you must understand the Lord is your Rock, your Fortress, your Deliverer; He is your God, hence your Strength, and as a result, you must learn to trust Him. When you trust God, He shields you from any calamities Psalms 18:2.
How about God as your HEALER? Whether due to your environment, age, or uncontrollable circumstances, sicknesses or diseases may come; however, your knowledge of God makes you an overcomer. The more reason you must diligently heed God’s voice, follow His instructions, and obey His commandments. God assures you that none of the diseases He brought on the Egyptians shall come upon you “For I am the Lord who heals you” (Exodus 15:26). In whatever situation you find yourself, locate your verses in the bible and take full benefit of God’s name. Do not forget, you need to have a relationship with God if you must enjoy the full benefits that come with knowing God for yourself. Not only should you know about God but have a relationship with Him.

No wonder Paul stated it in one of his books Philippians 3:10 that I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.
