Have you at any point in life thought that you are alone? Or have you ever thought that you might be alone at some point? Do you envision that you are going to be forsaken by people around you? Do you expect persecution? Whatever your questions and concerns are, it is imperative that you know; YOU ARE NOT ALONE. But wait, is it possible to be alone? Yes, it is possible but, you were not created to do life alone.
You must be aware that works of the flesh can make you feel as though you are alone as stated in Galatians 5:19-21 “19 now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.” not only would engaging in any of the aforementioned denies you access to the kingdom of God but also could make your life a living in hell. But do not worry, the blood of Jesus is sufficient for your redemption therefore you are not alone. One of the reasons Jesus came is to save us from sin.
John Piper, in his book titled Fifty Reasons Why Jesus Came to Die, said “Our sin ruins us in two ways: It makes us guilty before God so that we are under his just condemnation, and it makes us ugly in our behavior so that we disfigure the image of God we were meant to display. It damns us with guilt, and it enslaves us to lovelessness. The blood of Jesus frees us from both miseries”
(Piper, 2006).
The good news here is that the blood of Jesus is enough for us. Regardless of what your situations and circumstances are, all you need is the blood of Jesus. You cannot continue to “disfigure the image of God” and expect not to feel lonely. One of Satan’s strategies is to keep you from seeing yourself as one who disfigures the image of God by ensuring that you are blinded to the reality of God’s existence.
Peradventure, you look at the list of the works of the flesh mentioned and you feel as though you cannot be redeemed, or you have failed again and again from taking advantage of second chances. The fact is that God is not like a man hence if you call upon Him, He will answer you. Romans 10:13 says “…. whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Call on God with a contrite heart, and God will hear you. You are not alone!
Do you find yourself in a difficult season of life, or do you find yourself in tight corners where you think you cannot make it? What is that thing that makes you think you are alone? The more you think you are alone, the more you are likely to believe that you are alone. Here is what the bible says in Deuteronomy 31:8 “And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.” You now see why I say you are not alone. If you choose to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you will understand that you are not alone. However, let no one deceived you: suffering, persecution, rejection, tribulations, and the likes come with the package, but the truth is that you should “…be of good cheer Jesus have overcome the world” (John 16:33).
Jesus said in John 16:32 “Indeed the hour is coming, yes, has now come, that you will be scattered, each to his own, and will leave Me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me.” Here, Jesus told the disciples what would happen when He is arrested and crucified, and the disciples scattered. Jesus was confident that He would not be forsaken because God the Father would be with Him. People around may forsake, reject and disappoint you but always remember that you are not alone; God is with you.
